Today there are three words: arcanum, fructuous and gregarious.
Arcanum is a noun that means:
1. a secret; mystery.
2. a supposed great secret of nature that the alchemists sought to discover.
3. a secret and powerful remedy.
Fructuous is an adjective that means productive; fertile; profitable.
Gregarious is an adjective that means:
1. fond of the company of others; sociable.
2. living in flocks or herds, as animals.
3. Bot. growing in open clusters or colonies; not matted together.
4. pertaining to a flock or crowd.

Liz reflected on her life and realized she did not have any close friends that were just hers, or at least predominantly hers, other than people at work, which really didn’t count since she didn't do anything with them other than exchange brief pleasantries near the coffeemaker. It came as a shock, one day, when she realized that she really didn’t have anyone other than her partner that she could confide in or commiserate with, and although she loved her woman beyond words, she still sometimes felt lonely. So her plan was to start writing a new blog and then scour the fructuous depths of the blogosphere for new friends who were of a similar age and like mind. She convinced herself that she had stumbled upon the arcanum solution to the great difficulty she always encountered when trying to find and make new friends. Based on all she read and the recent movie she watched, Julie and Julia, she was sure there were whole gangs of gregarious women of her age, with similar likes and interests, that would flock to her blog and she to theirs, and she would make countless new friends and live happily ever after. Unfortunately, although there were occasional comments from a few different bloggers, she finally admitted to herself that her lackluster writing skills would never generate much interest in her online persona, and work kept her too busy to maintain a blog anyway, so she eventually gave up and categorized the effort as a fun, yet unsuccessful experiment.
