Can you evince the true nature of any job, its unique challenges and headaches, its potential rewards and fullfillments, without actually performing in that role and living through it? That was her decision and time was ticking away, along with what could be her greatest opportunity, or so everyone told her. She couldn’t decide what was holding her back from applying; she wasn’t sure she knew. Was it a lack of trust with her future boss or was it just that she was more comfortable with her old one? Did she believe she didn't have the skills necessary to succeed, or was she just concerned that she wouldn’t be as good in a new position as she was in the one she had right now? She wished she knew if the stress and tightness she felt in the middle of her chest was just a precursor of what was to come with a promotion or if she would eventually have more stress and frustration by staying in place.
