Gesticulate

Today’s word is gesticulate which is a verb which means:

1. Make or use gestures, esp in an animated or excited manner, with or instead of speech.

2. To express by gesturing.

Ernie Madpie felt nauseous and fearful as he began to return to consciousness, but he did not know why he was feeling such dread. He kept hearing voices and other noise in the background, to his left, but they were muffled, distorted, and far away, like they were coming from the end of a long tube. Then he felt an exquisitely sharp pain shoot down the right side of his neck, shoulder and back, all the way down to his right hip, as he tried to lift his head. He groaned and took several breaths waiting for the pain to subside before he slowly, carefully, tried to turn his eyes to the left without moving his head any more than necessary.  At first he only saw blurs through glass and blobs of dark colors moving around on the other side, but he finally focused enough to realized there was only a single man standing in front of him who was gesticulating frantically and yelling at him. He tried to decipher what the man was saying but he could not seem to focus on the man’s words very long before he started to wonder what had just happened and when he had gotten into a car.
