The human body is an amazing biological structure, however, it does not allow for much leeway when it comes to exercise. After 48 hours with no strenuous activities, your muscles start to break down and turn into fat, and after 72 hours you lose more muscle that you probably could have gained over one month’s time of faithful trips to the gym. Those were my thoughts as I considered taking a lacuna from my every other day 4 mile jogging schedule. It would be so easy to stay home tonight and relax, maybe read a book and eat a big pasta dinner. I would even consider eating a salad instead of something much more appetizing, if that would release me from sweating on a treadmill after work. Unfortunately the only thing better than a workout for your body has not yet been invented, but I hope someday a brilliant scientist will solve that puzzle; something as simple as taking a small little pill with your regular vitamins would be nice.
