Torpor

Todays word is torpor which is a noun which means:

1. Sluggish inactivity or inertia,

2. Lethargic indifferences; apathy,

3. A state of suspended physical powers and activities,

4. Dormancy, as of a hibernating animal.

By this stage you may have been working on your project for quite awhile, but now is no time to slip into a state of torpor, because this is the point where you will be able to apply your unlimited ingenuity and creativity in this worthwhile, yet exhausting effort.

After you have placed the third and last round ball of snow on top of the middle section, you can technically refer to your creative enterprise as a snowperson and begin the most exciting and creative aspect of your project – personalization through ornamentation. Just like the uniquely shaped snowflakes that floated gently to the ground, which were ultimately rolled up into balls to create your frozen round statue, no two snowpersons are ever alike; what sets them apart in the most magnificent way is the selection of accouterments that you will use to personify your creation.

The embellishments that you choose are limited only by your imagination and the household items that you feel comfortable leaving outside stuck into melting snow. Decorating with valuables is generally discouraged if pilferage in your neighborhood is a problem; foodstuffs, such as carrots, for example, are usually the norm. But if you aspire to create the best sculpture on the street, or even more ambitiously, in the entire subdivision, you must learn to think outside the box and yet, take considerable care when choosing your snowperson’s accessories.
